Yes, we survived the sea of fashion at market week! Three days of walking miles of showrooms, meetings with our current vendors, writing dozens of orders, endless taxi rides, and countless shuttles between WWDMAGIC Las Vegas Convention Center and PROJECT Mandalay Bay. Mapel is ready for spring/summer 2014!!
We stayed focused (not an easy task for me) and wrote orders for lots of dresses! We met with our favorite designers like VeronicaM who is known for bold prints, bright colors, drop waists, and tie necks. Neesha who brings out the fun flirty feminine side, with dazzling prints and wardrobe bright solids to add pop to a dreary NW day. And Michael Stars who built the business on ultra soft comfortable knits.
We picked up two lines that are new to Oregon, and we can’t wait to share the with you. The first is a new dress line, Little Mistress out of the UK, whose covetable collections are feminine, chic, pretty, affordable and wearable. All designed in-house with exquisite embellished detailing, lush layered textures and unique prints.
Greylin, an L.A. based fashion house, offers printed dresses, cottons, silks and ornate details that hit the right notes. We’re drooling over their summer collection.
Pastels, Brights and White Colors! Following trends, we ordered pastel jeans, statement jackets, black and white crop blazers, neutral colored cardigans, and lots of stripes: striped tees, dresses, skirts & sweaters. Get ready to stand out!
Some of the highlights were meeting one of the lead designers for BB Dakota, Michael Stars co-founder Suzanne, shop owners from across the country and hanging with Staci’s baby girl!
Stay tuned for more MAGIC August 2014
